Queerness is in constant surveillance — from the state, from corporations , and interpersonally. Confronted with these eyes, queer people still must experience joy. Over thumping club beats, do we feel joy in spite of scrutiny, or do we revel in leering looks? How much control do we have over our own narrative? What is the line of consent in a society that consistently doesn’t ask for ours?
