IT’S NOT JUST ME, IT’S EVERYBODY — EXHIBITION

EXHIBITION DESIGN, POSTER DESIGN, PAINTING [4.2023]

The cumulative thesis exhibition of Binghamton University BFA students.

For the thesis exhibition of Binghamton University BFA students, I presented 3 works. The first of these works is a four-piece poster series, called “VOYEUR”. This series  hopes to illicit emotions of intrigue, crossing the barriers between intimacy and disgust within the context of erotica. Each poster towers over at A1 size, overwhelming the audience with its fleshy tones and glaring eyes.

The posters are read from left to right, top to bottom:
  • Watching
  • HARD
  • Voyeur (Like What You See?)
  • Seen

“A Chinese Thanksgiving” is the second piece — a documentary about Chinese-American heritage and its manifestation in the traditional US holiday of Thanksgiving. The video is geared to have a timeless, nostalgic feeling that caps off my 4 years in higher education.

The third piece, titled “Body Contact”, is an oil-on-canvas painting that depicts a motorsport car crashing into a naval. The goal was to capitalize on oil paint’s natural shine to simultaneously amplify the industrial metal of the car and the sweat of skin—this, in turn, emphasizes the situational gore of skin and fat being torn off of the flesh.
